2004 COMMUNICATOR AWARD
Cambridge, MA, April 5, 2004 ---Harris Communications
has won an Award
of Distinction in the 2004 international Communicator
Awards competition for outstanding work in the communications field.
The winning submission,
"Power Toothbrush News Release,
" was written and dissemminated by Anita M. Harris on behalf of
The Forsyth Institute and the Cochrane Collaboration--two nonprofit health
research organizations active in the field of evidence-based dentistry.
The release described the results of a 37-year
review of the effectiveness of a variety of power toothbrush mechanisms.
The review was conducted by The Cochrane Collaboration oral health group,
which is headquartered in Manchester England. The review findings--that
only power toothbrushes with heads that both oscillate and rotate are more
effective than manual toothbrushes-- were announced at the first
Forsyth Conference on Evidence-based Dentistry, held in Boston in
January, 2004.
According to the awarding
organization, located in Arlington, Texas: "The Award of Distinction is awarded for projects
that exceed industry standards in communicating a message or idea.
Entrants are judged by inudstry professionals who look for companies and
individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose
work serves as a benchmark for the industry."
